Well, if all goes according to plan, sometime within the next year I should be graduating with my Doctorate in preaching. This December would be the earliest possibility, next May would be the latest, if all goes according to plan. That’s a big “if” isn’t it?  I can remember, not that long ago, say, my sophomore year of...

Here’s what happened; Wednesday I go to church, right? Just a normal day preparing for Wednesday evening. And the wind is going crazy as you guys know, and I got there and told Patty Gralka I’m surprised that we still have power; that's good; we’ll just have to keep in mind if the power goes out we’re going to have to...

Hebrews 11:8-16

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God. Hebrews 11:7

By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.

For the last 3 weeks, everyone I know has been congratulating me personally about the Super Bowl. Many of you here in this room greeted me with a, “Congrats!” the first time we reconvened after...

Hebrews 11:5-6

By faith, Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found because God had taken him. Now before he was taken, he was commended as having pleased God. Without faith, it is impossible to please him. For whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists, and that he rewards those who seek him.

What happened to Jimmy Hoffa? That is the question, isn’t it? The disappearance of the Teamsters president in 1975 remains an unanswered question. This mystery lives in Detroit folklore, for Hoffa was...
