As our country continues to be divided by anger and hatred it is important to remember that both our local church and the global church is composed of a blend of various social, political, and economic backgrounds.
Among Christ’s original twelve disciples there was Matthew the Tax Collector and Simon the Zealot. Matthew worked for the Roman Empire and was considered a traitor by many Jews. Simon was a member of a militant group who wanted to violently overthrow the Roman Empire. Yet these two were both called by Christ and worked harmoniously together for the Gospel.
As our area has entered another surge in COVID-19 cases we wanted to give an update to our response.
We will continue to have church services moving forward. We do ask that you please stay home if you are feeling sick, you have tested positive for COVID-19, or you have been exposed to someone who has tested positive in the last two weeks. Additionally, anyone 5 years old or older will be required to wear a mask throughout the church building except when you are seated.
Finally, a reminder that God wants us to always share grace with one another, to practice unity in the essential things, to practice liberty in the non-essential things, and to show love in everything.
Philippians 2:1–4
“So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”
